the saltwater kiss
I have secrets
I probably should not mention
But I know I can trust you
You have good intention
So now that I have you
I have your attention
Of the things that we do
In the dark without clothes
It’s not what you think
Or where your mind goes
When did it begin?
The moment of sin?
This passionate affair
That I’m going to share
The sun went missing
The sky was pissing
We went to the fjord
For saltwater kissing
It’s not at all what I planned
I prefer warm water and beaches with sand
I meant to focus on skills and training
Not jumping off docks
In November when it’s raining
Not running away
When the pressure is draining
I suppose I should do a bit more explaining
When you get a taste of the Sørenga dive
It’s the moment of contact when you feel so alive
Everything vanishes for your soul to revive
One saltwater kiss and I fell for November
The saltwater in the dark with the sparks and the embers
By far the most unconditional of all of my loves
Putting up with wool socks and maybe even wool gloves
The dark brought this gift completely unexpected
I never would have guessed or even connected
Snow never disappoints when it makes an appearance
But in November it’s fickle and teases with incoherence
December with holidays is more consistent, lighter and kind
But even if it’s dark, just keep an open mind
Just pay attention, you never know what you’ll find
There’s more to explore between the sheets of rain in November
Hope the snow won’t just come and go but will stay in December
There’s more to discover over and under the white covers
Do you think it’s cheating, if you have multiple, monthly lovers?
